That is, until he starts questioning Toni, saying he thinks she has an eating disorder. Then she starts dating Clint, the hot new guy at the studio, putting a deeper wedge between her and Carter. When she’s hospitalized after an on-stage collapse, and Carter stupidly starts in with advice about food and weight, she sends him away—then instantly regrets it.

When Toni tries to mend the hurt between them, she stumbles onto proof that Carter has feelings for her that go way beyond those of a friend. Toni is left with the very real prospect of losing Carter forever, unless somehow she can return his feelings—but that’s impossible. Isn’t it?

Slayers by C.J. Hill

SlayersNew_250pPrize Format: Print

Dragons exist. They’re ferocious. And they’re smart: Before they were killed off by slayer-knights, they rendered a select group of eggs dormant, so their offspring would survive. Only a handful of people know about this, let alone believe it – these “Slayers” are descended from the original knights, and are now a diverse group of teens that includes Tori, a smart but spoiled senator’s daughter who didn’t sign up to save the world.

The dragon eggs have fallen into the wrong hands. The Slayers must work together to stop the eggs from hatching. They will fight; they will fall in love. But will they survive?

This is book #1 of the Slayers series. Book #2, Slayers: Friends and Traitors was released October 2013.

Rallison_Janette200C.J. Hill is a pen name for Janette Rallison who is best known for writing romantic comedies. When her writing shifted away from the romantic comedy genre into action, her editor thought a pen name would be a good idea. CJ Hill books include: dangerous dragons, (Slayers; Slayers: Friends and Traitors) Time travel to dystopian worlds, (Erasing Time; Echo in Time) and up-coming: flesh-eating beetles.

CJ Hill (Janette) has five children, three of whom like her on any given day depending on who is in trouble. She has lived in Arizona for the last half of her life, but is still in desert denial and hopes that one day her garden will grow silver bells and cockle shells or maybe just tomatoes.
