Announcing our 6th Annual Book Cover Contest!
I love this contest because it’s just plain fun! And also because I do typesetting and design in my day job, I like to give a shout out to the frequently overlooked cover designers.
You’ll need to visit the site daily from Jan 19th through 31st, if you want to vote in all the categories.
Feel free to swipe the image from this post and share it on your blog, website, social media or wherever your want to help spread the word. Use this link http://bit.ly/1EWhGmY (because it’s short and easy) and hashtag #2014LDSCovers
Here’s how it works:
- Nominate book covers for 2014 fiction by LDS authors.
- Vote on covers.
- Praise the winners.
The long version of the details are found here, and please, please, please read them carefully.
Update: Easy Way to Nominate!
If you’re on Pinterest, you can go to my boards and “like” the covers you want to nominate. Be sure you look at the boards that say 2014 in the title.
If you aren’t on Pinterest, you can still nominate by e-mail.

I need to fully disclose a conflict of interest. A book cover that I designed is one of the finalists in the Cozy Mystery/Romantic Suspense Category—Ring Around the Rosie by Julie Coulter Bellon.
Normally, I would never allow this—and in past years when I chose all the finalists myself, I never included my own work. However, this year, I allowed nominations for covers to be included. My cover received the most nominations in that category.
Again, normally, I would have disqualified my own work but after consulting with several other people, they felt that since it was reader nominated, I should include it in the finalists. So it’s there. Do with it as you will.
